Brookhaven Automotive
Purpose
This website is for use by automotive students of Brookhaven College who attend classes taught by Matthew Whitten. Current lecture materials, cooperative workbooks, online quizzes/tests, and other support materials are found here. These materials and links are to be used to further support the activities done in the current semester. Online quizzes and test are secure and allow me the instructor a faster method to grading providing the student a better in-class experience that is not perforated by quizzes every-other day.
About Me
My automotive career began in 1997 in the Brookhaven Ford ASSET program that was taught by my now lead faculty member Don Jones. I worked at Bill Utter Ford as a Master Technician in all areas of automotive technology. (Chassis, Electrical, Drivetrain, Gasoline Engine Repair/Performance, Diesel Engine Repair/Performance, and Light-line) I was one technician who did not shy away from anything. I honestly went from installing and engine one morning to removing a dash-board. I appreciated the experience that the variety of work afforded me. Of course I would be no one if it were not for the awesome technicians that I apprenticed under. My Faculty career began here at Brookhaven in 2001 when I began teaching automotive technology as an adjunct member at night. In 2004 I was hired as full-time faculty in the Ford ASSET program where I teach opposite Shane Baxter. I also teach in the Comprehensive Automotive Technology program at nights. If you have any questions about our programs send me an email.
